Ingredients

  • 2 ripe Egyptian guavas, peeled and deseeded
  • 1 cup cold full fat milk , low-fat or plant-based milk can be substituted.
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar or honey , monk fruit sugar or stevia can be substituted.
  • ½ cup ice cubes , to chill and create a frothy texture
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Prepare the guavas: Peel the guavas, remove the seeds, and cut the flesh into chunks.
  • Blend: Add the guava chunks, milk, sugar, ice, and lemon juice to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and frothy, about 1–2 minutes.
  • Strain (optional): For a silky finish, pour the mixture through a fine sieve to remove any pulp.
  • Serve: Pour into chilled glasses and enjoy immediately, while the shake is creamy and frothy.
  • Store: Store in the fridge for up to 24 hours. The flavor and frothiness are best when fresh. Shake before serving: The mixture may separate slightly, so give it a quick stir or shake before drinking. Avoid freezing: Freezing is not recommended, as it can alter the texture and dilute the flavor.

Nermine's Notes

  • Peak season for Egyptian guavas is September, making this a seasonal favorite.
  • Adjust sweetness depending on the ripeness of your guavas.
  • A touch of honey or vanilla can add extra depth.
