Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams frozen sweet potatoes
  • ¼ cup half-and-half
  • 1 ½ teaspoons grated orange zest
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, optional
  • Himalayan salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ¼ cup toasted walnuts , or pralined Walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon chili-infused oil , optional

Instructions
 

  • In a hot non-stick pan, add the frozen mashed sweet potatoes with 1/4 cup of hot water and let them defrost over low heat.
  • Add gradually and one by one, the half and half, orange juice, orange zest, butter, and spices. Mix well with a spatula. Once all the ingredients are incorporated, turn off the heat.
  • Transfer the mashed orange sweet potatoes to a serving plate. Smooth out the surface of the mashed sweet potatoes creating patterns with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle toasted walnuts on top.
  • Garnish with a twisted thin slice of orange and a flutter of cayenne.
  • Serve warm or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, place the orange-sweet potatoes in a microwave-safe dish and reheat from 1-2 minutes.
